The Kongpo and Draksum Chu are world-class rivers with exciting rapids and stunning mountain scenery. The Kongpo region is quite different from the rest of Tibet with forested mountains and emerald green rivers. The highlight of the trip is the Gyazhing Gorge, which has 3km of exhilarating class III and IV rapids. On the Draksum Chu you will run approximately 30km of whitewater. You definitely have to be a confident swimmer to challenge this run and you must be fit and fairly well acclimatized (at least 4 days in Lhasa). This is an exciting run and you can expect to paddle hard particularly on day two.
